Staff Profiles

Roberto Gonzalez
I moved to Florida from Puerto Rico in 1991. I graduated from Central Florida Community College in 1992. I continued on to Saint Leo University and graduated in 2011. I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a second major in Business Administration with Specialty in Management.  I am the founder and President of our full-service firm, Taxsmart. I am a member of the following organizations, NSTP, NATP, Latino Tax, and Accountant Association. I am a Certifying Acceptance Agent. I assist clients in workers compensation compliance. I am also a Notary Public.  As of this year I am the Director of Finance of the Mexican Chamber. In my leisure I enjoy traveling with my wife Adelis and our dog Max.

Helen Rodriguez:
I have been the General Manager at Taxsmart since October 2012. My position requires high attention to detail and accuracy. I have experience in overseeing all administrative functions in the business. Having the ability to direct and supervise, I delegate administrative tasks, such as accounting, paperwork and payroll. I ensure administrative efficiency, proper procedure, implementation of policies. Proven my experience as Accounting Manager, I have advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, payroll software and databases.

I obtain extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations by attending yearly I.R.S. forums and pressing forward on Continuing Education credits yearly. Also, I am a Certifying Acceptance Agent. and member of the National Society of Tax Professional.

Laigen Blanco:
I have been at Taxsmart for 6 years. I am one of the Bookkeepers at Taxsmart. My position requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality with customer sensitive information. I oversee company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. I perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. My position requires organizational skills, problem solving skills, a way with numbers and above all integrity and transparency.

Kara Grooms:
